Galaxy S7 Overheating after screen replacement?

On May 16, 2019, Posted by , With 1 Comment

Done a Samsung S7 replacement amoled screen for a friend about 3 weeks ago, phone worked fine for 7 – 10 days after, it is now beginning to randomly overheat and reboot, seems to also be a fair bit of battery drain.

Anyone know what the issue would be before i open it back up? I doubt its the screen as it was a Samsung service pack and Ive used the same supplier for years and never had a faulty screen yet.

Does the battery get hot? sounds like a short in the battery itself (or the connector).

nDisplay replacement is a fairly simple process, that is if the whole lcd+digital was replaced. If that is the case then all I can think of is that the new display for whatever reason is hotter than normal and adding the heat to the logic board causing overheat.
