iPad error 27 – bundle of problems ! old iphone set hardware strange problem
New to the forum… very good info BTW.
So I have an iPad 3rd Gen 32GB wifi+4G. The owner claimed he left it on the trunk of his car for weeks underneath clothing and stuff. It probably got very hot and banged up and subject to vibrations and possibly humidity or even minor water.
In any case, the digitizer was cracked but the outer shell looks pretty OK. The iPad was stuck on a restore mode when I received it; all attempts to restore failed Along with error 27 on iTunes (Mac and PC).
Once I opened it up, inside everything looked good but it seemed that the digitizer was replaced at some point in the past. Possibly a refurb since all stickers on the connectors looked new.
I tried restoring it Along without the digitizer nor LCD and the restore went thru.
I did noticed that the iPad was on an endless loop since it kept getting disconnected from iTunes every 3 minutes or so.
I put everything back together and the iPad booted up but extremely slow; I set it up as a new iPad and the screen was very laggy even a few seconds during the initial setup screens. Also, it did not find the wifi nor cellular features.
Once in the Home screen the iPad was fairly responsive but no wifi, no cellular but yes to Bluetooth. Also, the Settings screen was blank and closed itself after a few seconds.
I put the iPad on airplane mode and rebooted. Upon startup I was able to switch wifi and cellular on. I browsed the web and also got the Settings screen back.
I saw imei for cell radio and other parameters; all appeared normal.
I switched off airplane mode well after 15 minutes of poking around and rebooted. To my surprise the iPad got stuck on the apple logo. I tried restoring but again it got stuck on iTunes error 27. I disconnected the LCD only (left the digitizer connected) and applied the restore again and this time as before no error 27.
I put everything back together and this time the iPad during the initial setup (as new iPad again) found the wifi and cellular features and was fast and responsive.
I have not turned it off as I have left it charging.
Does anyone have an idea as to why this is happening? Why does the LCD cause an error 27 during a restore? Why is the iPad not able to come on after a shutdown? BTW I have tested 2 LCD panels but no difference.
I am currently running ios 7.1.2. Any ideas are welcomed!
Cheers
This error 27 is driving me nuts… I found more info in the logs. However, it is not to be helpeding me determine where the problem resides. Ive tried using the logic board in another same model working iPad but no go.
Ive also tried iOS 8 which I was able to upgrade as before Along with the LCD removed.
Why does the iPad allow a restore Along without the LCD but Along with the LCD I get error 27!!!
kindly to be helped… ideas???
i had the same error during an ios6jb to ios8 but my ipad turned on Along with the new ios :/ ???
after 2 days of normal use and Along with no probems i got a bootloop i tried to restore in dfu all smooth no errors but im still stuck on boot loop any ideas?
