iPhone 4 speaker not working – looking for solution of bundle of problems ! old iphone set

iPhone 4, ringtone and alarm work. Can not change the volume as when pushing + or – button the scale is not there. iPhone is not in mute mode. Instead it shows a ringer icon… When headphones are in there is no problem. Moment they come out, no external sound. Charging and mic working ok.

From what I can gather, the dock connector or speaker unit wants to be replaced.

From what I have described, which piece wants replacing? Can you provide a link to the piece kindly.

Thanks.

I should add that I replaced the headphone jack yesterday. Still no luck, hence my thinking of speaker unit or dock connector

have you checked the connector for the charge flex on the motherboard? maybe somethings missing or damaged.

but first try the loud speaker and the charge flex becasue they might shorting or something
