Can you advice me on a small problem. I am not customer but little knowledge base on iphones. Experts kindly to be helped

The story is like this.
My friend iphone 4s had its screen change and since then it has been getting hot and showing no service.
The phone has not been dropped, nor water damaged. I have check all posting on the forum Along with little success.

1. I have trace the signal path including the blue coil all intact using (wites diagram)
2. I have connected the phone to itunes and reset the date Along without success.
3. The phone IMEI is intact and I can see all the network but no signals.
4. The phone is not barred, blocked or blacklisted
5. There is however a short on C46_rf (Hot), C47_rf, c48_rf) I removed the caps one by one Along without aNY SUCCESS. Clearly it means that one of the ic is damaged. My question is could it be U3_rf ( GPS) or U16_rf.
The board is neat and clean no corrosion at all.
kindly advice.

Did you restored your phone ?
Sometimes after removing battery Along with ios 6 on the phone you want to set time and date or restore it phone

You are on a good way. If is a short on this line, you get no network.
In my case, it always was a cap shorted (abut 10 times till now). What about C55_RF?

Can you give external voltage to this line and check what gets hot? …not more than 1.3V kindly.
(You can also use a good freezing-spray and see where it melts first)

Thanks for your suggestion, C55_RF is short as well. I am going to have to remove the Ic U16_rf and see if the short disappear and then reball it
    Will keep you posted.

    STOP!

I think you can save this work, and if its really this ic, then reball doesnt to be helped, then its the ic self dead.

Pls check C18_RF and the Region around U9_RF for any corrosion. Often is there corroded.

Have you tryed to give external voltage to this line and see what gets hot?
