IPhone 4S without wifi chip = blackscreen – need accurate way for iphone software or hardware issue
Hi,
Anyone knows if an iphone4s powered on Along without wifi chip will boot to iOS but Along with black screen ?
Unsoldered damaged wifi chip but phone now shows no screen, but backlight.
I can wake up the screen, synchronizing Along with itunes e.g…
All filters near LCD connector are fine.
Maybe overheated CPU?
Regards
no ic wifi. you can turn on iphone in nomaly
try to change lcd first
Damn, already tried four different screens.
Backlight works and the whole phone does, except for the screen.
Strange…but I dont know if reheat a5 to be helpeds…
clean the connector first maybe because of flux you used
atatsss
@Exkurs this is curious !! I had a same problem on a 4S that had the lcd connector damaged.
I have replaced the connector, but after that i had the phone working completely (itunes recognized, sounds, etc..) but black screen too, and backlight working !
Maybe i have overheated the wifi chip and this is the main cause like you.
Suggestion : DONT heat the cpu !! the problem is not here, i can guarantee that. Try to place a new wifi chip to see if it work. I havent that phone anymore and i cant try..
Thanks for your reply.
I ordered two new chips last week, so I will see if this phenomena is because of of the missing wifi chip.
i got same problem after removing wifi chip strange problem phone work fine but no lcd only light , damn i have to purchase new phone . so other peoples be careful .
I have made some tests after my last post, and i can confirm that the phone and LCD work even Along without the wifi module.
It is not the module that cause the missing LCD, the problem is or the lcd itself, or the connector, or the tracks damaged under the screw near the touchscreen connector (if you use the wrong screw, you damage the second layer of the board)
No broken tracks here.
I already replaced the LCD-Connector and checked the coils around it.
Maybe the heat while unsoldering the Wifi-Chip caused disbonding of the PCB layers…
There is no visible sign of any broken layers or so.
Since i applied the heat only to wifi chip, i dont think CPU solder balls cracked.
But you never know -.-
I have no clue
Any new about this problem? I have the same problem
No, i Sold The Unit.
