As per title, i changed a iphone 5 lcd and it came on ok at first then after re-assemble the backlight went off and hasnt come back on. Phone comes on ok but no backlight.

    anyone, ive had two like this now, working ok Along with old screen but after lcd/digitizer replacement no backlight. put old screen back in and still no backlight.

    remove battery when replacing digitizer… if not digiter somehow gets short… dunno about backlight issue… search forum…

    i think ive found the problem, the three solder joints at the top of the screen didnt have tape over them, i think they shorted out on something and killed backlight coil/ic.

    are the three solder joints for the lcd backlight?

    i dont think thats the problem… but keep us informed… also to remind you iphone boards are very sensitive make sure you didnt damaged any component… use microscope!

    they worked ok when tested outside case, when the lcd/digit was pushed in it did not work hence the solder joint/short theory.

    as i said before new apple boards are too sensitive you probably damaged a component… investigate Along with a microscope…

    kindly check the small components between the LCD and Touch Digitizer sockets.

    Check L3 and L19 Along with a ohmmeter if are not breaked.

    I had an issue last night Along with those two coils, one side have desoldered.
    I have resoldered the copper wire on the board , and now display is working again title=smile

    bought your kit and replaced 3 filters, diode, and the coil and still no Backlight? any idea what else could be bad?

    I am following this thread because I had the exact same issue. Did you resolve it? I have tried 3 digitizers and cant see a display? I even tried to go back to my original cracked screen Along without luck. I thought I was very careful replacing the digitizer but now my phone has a black display. If you were able to find the solution kindly share.
