Dear All,

I have a water damaged iPhone 5 which has been cleaned and everything now works Along with the exception of the Proximity sensor.

I have attached a photo showing the corrosion on the board connector however, Im not sure what all the values should be on this plug and wondered if anyone has the informaton or any other to be helpedful informaton that can to be helped me to get the sensor workng again.

I have checked the proximity ribbon in another phone and t works fine so its something on the water damaged board thats at fault.

thank you in advance

Check your logicboars frontflex connector legs. If its discolored black, it means it could mean the soldering connection there is disconnected. If all if fine, then check the proximity filter FL58 and R125

thx the answer…connector leg all ok…and 2 parts checked….which 4 legs to proximity sensor?flex cable changed but not solve problem…what parts want checking for this problem?

Check if parts FL4, FL45, FL58, R125 are moving, disconnected or broken.
Check all J1 legs one by one if there is movement, specially the discolored black ones could be disconnected.
Check the frontflex cable, maybe the new one is faulty..
Check if the proximity works Along with an other LCD screen.

Sometimes the small square position thiny is glued wrong, too high or low.
Or Along with a cheap screen the blue paint is too dark and blocking the sensor.
